Safety First

Filling of Rope End Terminations (Sockets)

We provide professional replacement of tow socket potting compound — ensuring the reliability and safety of your vessel's rigging systems!

1. Why is this important?
Tow sockets are a critically important element of any rigging system. The quality of their potting directly affects:

  • Safety of towing and cargo operations
  • Reliability of rope/cable fastening
  • Durability of equipment
  • Resistance to extreme loads, vibration, and harsh marine conditions (salt spray, humidity, temperature fluctuations)

Worn or damaged potting can lead to loosened fastenings, socket deformation, or even sudden rope failure — with all the associated risks and losses.

2. What we offer?
We have modern production equipment and a team of professionals to carry out such work, allowing us to guarantee the highest quality potting of ropes with high-strength polymer compounds in the shortest possible time.

3. What does the service include?

  • Diagnostics. Visual and instrumental inspection of sockets and ropes to identify potting defects, corrosion, and wear.
  • Removal of old potting. Careful removal of the old compound without damaging the rope or socket body.
  • Preparation. Cleaning and degreasing the rope end, untwisting to the required depth, and sealing the lower part of the socket.
  • Potting with new compound. Precise mixing of components and filling the socket to the top with the compound, ensuring no voids.
  • Curing and quality control. Holding until the compound fully hardens, checking bond quality, seal integrity, and fastening strength of the rope.
  • Final inspection. Load testing and regular inspection of end terminations. Testing the assembly for compliance with safety standards and readiness for operation.
